Aastal 3028 hävitavad Drejd planeet Maa. Vähesed ellujäänud inimesed elavad alates sellest hetkest kosmoses teiste armust ilma kodu ja tulevikuta. Nende hulgas on Cale (Matt Damon), Drejde rünnakus hukkunud teadlase poeg, kes hoiab endas inimkonna tuleviku võtit. Kusagile maailmaruumi on peidetud kosmoselaev Titaan, mis suudaks inimkonna kokku koguda ja neile uut lootust anda.
